Work and study camp 2017

The SCI-Karnataka Group along with the International Volunteers assembled at the camp site on 10.08.2017.   Venkatesh Kumar Co-ordinator of the Camp, received the Volunteers and Members. Members attended the Camp were Vikram and  Deepak from Delhi, Mohammed KamrulAhshan and RoisulAhsanAarush from Bangladesh, Ishan, Shafeer,  Manojkumar from Srilanka Mahesh, Satish, Kartik from Karnataka along with local volunteers.

The Work & Study Camp inaguarated by lighting a Lamp by Sri A Suryanarayana, SCI India CWC Chairman, Chennakeshava, Local Village leader  of the Village, Smt. Vanishree, Head Madam of Govt. School, Smt. Chandrakala, Teacher, Nandeeshappa, National Award winner, Shivanna Dairy Secretary, on 11.08.2017. A Suryanarayana distributed the Camp materials to the Volunteers.

Meeting was conducted by the volunteers to decide about project accordingly cleaning process of the School premises started by clearing the weeds which took two days to completely eradicate the weeds. 

 We celebrated the Birthday of Manoj Kumar, Volunteer from Srilanka by cutting Cake.  Sri. Mohammed KamrulAhshan, volunteer from Bangladesh was nominated as Group Leader for the camp.

All the volunteers joined in the Exercises,  Yoga classes, Meditation. M R Rama Murthy, Secretary, SCI Karnataka Group along with A Suryanarayana, SCI India CWC Chairman, participated the camp.  Cleaning of the School premises continued for the second day. We had an interaction with the school authorities about the our programme. Evening a Group discussion was done with the volunteers and decided to do the path work on next day.  Interaction with the volunteers was encouraging.

                                 

We were able to complete the path work  by laying cement on the path.  The work done by the volunteers was commendable.

 

On 15th August 2017 the Independence Day was celebrated along with School Staff, Childrens, Our Volunteers, and local people by Flag hoisting. Vikram from Delhi gave a speech about India and significance of Independence Day.

 Dr. JFM Shivakumar M, JCI National Trainer gave a Training about “HOW TO BE A VOLUNTEER”, “BUILD LEADERSHIP” and “WHAT IS VOLUNTEERING”.  

A village visit was conducted to know about Sericulture.

On 17th August 2017 Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated by visiting SringeriSharadha High School and Government School, Hosapete, had an interaction with the School Children. 

Visited Historical place Devanahalli, Jain Temple, Shilpa Kala Kshetra, Tippusultan Birth place, Devanahalli Fort.

 Visited Nandi Hills.

On 20th August 2017 the  concluding day A Surayanarayana, CWC Chairman, M N Ganesh, National Treasurer, Abhinash, President, SCI Karnataka along with M. R. Rama Murthy, Secretary, SCI Karnataka Group, Ms Meghana, JCI Zone Officer and EC Member, SCI Karnataka Group, Anees Ur Rehaman, Harish along with Local volunteers participated in concluding function by distributing the Participating Certificates to the Volunteers who has made the Work camp successful.
