Volunteering opportunities in India are available in different states, each with its unique culture, language, and social issues. From teaching English to underprivileged children in rural areas to helping conserve wildlife in national parks, volunteers can choose from a range of programs that suit their skills and interests. These experiences also offer opportunities to learn about India’s diverse communities and traditions.

9 girl students of Smt.Kamala Mehta Dadar School for Blind students passed STD 10th with distinction, For these students SCI-India Maharashtra Group collected Rs.46,000/- from SCI India Volunteers and distributed it to the students.









Smt.Kamla Mehta Dadar school for the Blind school founded in the year 14 July 1900. In the year 1980 Principal of that time Ms Nama Bhat invited SCI to visit school. Here started SCI Journey with blind school. Initially Nripen Sen, NA Qurey, Kannan Dr Prabhu started the activities and still today SCI volunteers involved weekend Camp on all Sundays. Now days school is allowing only women volunteers inside the school premises. Our Volunteers help visually impaired girls for reading text Books, and assist them as writer for their exams. Even till graduation.
These girls are working in various government Sectors Banks they get married and have their kids. And always remind SCI Volunteers.
This year 9 students have appeared for STD 10th Exam and passed with distinction. some of our volunteers decided to help these girls financially for their future studies. We have collected Rs . 46,000/- and distributed among this 9 students, they were very happy as this help was necessary and much needed. We have received the donations from SCI Volunteers from all over India.
Doner names are : Abinash Ganesh, Jyotsna Dichawalkar, Usha Vengurlekar , Kavita Angane, Sangeeta Panjabrao , CNN Raju , OP Yadav , Tapas Sur, Yogita Borse , Jitendra , And three other donners.
Also members attended the function to cheer up these girls were,
Shobha Bajpai D’Silva, Vaishali Kamble , Anil Sawant , Prabhakar Kamble, Yogita Borse , Ujwala More , Kavita Angane, Panjabrao , Gouri Patade.
Ms Shobha Bajpai distributed drinking water bottles to these girls as a gift.

SCI-India Maharashtra State Group held an international webinar on volunteering and workcamps, with special emphasis on participation of overseas volunteers in Asian workcamps. The webinar was held on 5th December 2023, the International Volunteer Day, as a tribute to the spirit of voluntarism.
